Quality of Afterlife A eulogy poem for Carol Schaffrick written 25 July 1997 by Mike Scudder Is it quality of life Carol pursued? Then why didn't she give it up long ago? After all, didn't cancer win its feud? Why choose to pray in pain, to go so slow? No, she chose quality of after-life. Her heart was where Jesus guards her treasures She saved in friends, as a mother and wife She put others hurts before her pleasures. Hard working, friendly, welcoming and wise, Wealthy in family, church and good deeds; No lottery for her, Jesus was her prize; Content with food, and shelter, and meeting needs. She was one of us, human, sinful and weak. Yet she was also an angel from God, A messenger of life with the courage to seek The joy of Jesus with His staff and rod. "Well done, good and faithful servant," she heard As Jesus welcomed His friend to His place. She knew that Jesus was true to His word. Be wise with her. Fear not to seek God's face.
